Kid's Clay Franchise Information:

Description

Kid's Clay is an extra-mural ceramics activity offered by my franchisees. I was the Art teacher at Western Province Preparatory School from 1988 to 1994 and since then I have taught extra-mural ceramics ("pottery") at various schools. Kid's Clay is now offered by my franchisees at more than 60 different venues in the greater Cape Town and Helderberg areas, and soon also in Polokwane. The rights to operate a franchise in Hamilton, New Zealand has also been sold.

Benefits of claywork

- Strengthens muscles, especially the hand and wrist.

- Facilitates learning of movement patterns (e.g. roll a ball or snake).

- Develops fine motor co-ordination skills and visual perception.

- Stimulates the senses (smell, colour, temperature and texture of the clay).

Training

Training is provided so you do not have to be a teacher or a potter, but if you are it is an advantage. Training takes place in Cape Town over 2 days and franchisees need to allow for travel expenses to Cape Town and 2 nights accommodation.

Investment

R10,000 upfront before training commences and the balance paid in 36 instalments of R500 per month.
